Faculty and Staff Parking Permits

2023-2024 academic year permits are now available for purchase by logging in to My UC Merced Parking Portal. 

Virtual parking permit purchases are issued on a first-come, first-serve basis. Certain virtual parking permits may not be available at any given time. 

Faculty and staff parking on campus more than 12 days per month for their primary work schedule are required to purchase a monthly permit.

Effective July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024

Slate, Blue, Green and Motorcycle permits are available continuously.

Purchasing a Faculty and Staff Permit

Please use the My UC Merced Parking Portal to reserve the following permits:

  • Gold - Library Lots, Le Grand, Bellevue Lot and North Bowl, Blue & Green
  • Slate - North Bowl, Blue Zone & Green Zone
  • Blue - P3, Scholars & ECEC Lots & Green Zone
  • Green- Bellevue Lot Green Zone

Daily Parking Permits

Faculty and staff commuting to campus 12 days or less per month, may opt to purchase daily paid parking through Flowbird mobile app . The daily rates are prorated based on the three tiers below (Transaction fee of $ 0.35 will be applied).

Gold: $6.00 (Library Lots, Le Grand, Bellevue Lot and North Bowl, Blue Zone & Green Zone)
Slate: $4.00 (North Bowl, Blue Zone & Green Zone)
Blue: $3.00 (P3, Scholars Lot, ECEC and Green Zone)
Green: $3.00 (Bellevue Lot Green Zone)

"Pay by Text", Hourly Parking Permits

Simply text "PARKBELL" to 727563 to pay for hourly parking when you arrive to campus.  

Valid in Bellevue Lot - Green Zone Only.

Accessible Parking

Faculty and Staff using a DMV-issued ADA placard or similar distinguishing license plate must also purchase some form of paid parking when parking in a ADA space on campus. Parking without a valid UC Merced virtual permit in accessible spaces, even with an ADA placard, is a ticketable offense for UC Merced affiliates and visitors. ADA placards are not valid in reserved parking spaces. Accessible parking permits are only available by visiting the TAPS parking office.

Accessible Parking permits are available continuously.

Carpool Permits 

Carpool permits are available to groups of two or more people parking at least three days per week. Gold, Slate and Blue lots are available for carpool permits. These permits are only available for purchase at the parking office. All parties must be present in order to pick up a permit. The additional clean air cards issued to carpoolers are only valid for use with a current active carpool permit. 

Short-Term Medical Parking

Available for short-term medical need of accessible parking. A doctor’s note containing a specific start and end date is required. Faculty and staff must also purchase some form of paid parking to be eligible for medical parking. Medical parking is valid in any non-specially marked spaces except for Reserved parking lots. Parking is not authorized in ADA spaces.
