Motorpool Services - University Business Fleet Vehicle & Cart Rentals

 

 

Submitting a Reservation Request

1. Have all drivers submit a DMV Pull Form to fleetservices@ucmerced.edu

All drivers must:

  • Be affiliated with UC Merced
  • Possess a valid CA driver’s license
  • Have successfully passed a DMV Pull
  • Be present to sign out the vehicle and receive the keys

To request a vehicle or cart and a TAPS driver, submit a request via eDoc in order to collaborate with TAPS Events

 

2. Submit the reservation request

Undergraduate Students, Student Clubs, & Organizations

Submit reservations requests through the Office of Student Life

 

3. Look for email reservation confirmation

A Fleet representative will respond to your request within 24-48 business hours

If your request is URGENT, call Fleet Services at (209) 228-7433

 

Reservation Pick-up

1. Visit the TAPS Office

Key Pick-up Hours: Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm & 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm

 

2. Give the representative your reservation number

 

3. Sign the vehicle or cart inspection form

All driver's must be present to sign the vehicle inspection form or cart inspection form and receive the keys

 

Reservation Returns

1. Park the vehilce

a. Vehicles must be returned with the same level of fuel and purchase receipts. Failure to refuel will result in an additional administrative fee recharge

b. Carts must be plugged into its corresponding charging unit upon return. Failure to charge may result in an additional administrative fee recharge

 

2. Place fuel receipts into the key badge

 

3. Return keys to the TAPS office

Returns outside of office hours may be deposited in the Fleet Services Drop Box where the return inspection will be completed on your behalf

 

Cancellations

1. Email fleetservices@ucmerced.edu with your cancellation

24-hour cancellation notice is required

Late cancellations and abandoned reservations will result in a recharge for the full reservation period

GPS & Driver Feedback System

All of our motorpool vehicles have been installed with driver feedback technology that will sound and send email notifications upon any of the following conditions. Repeated instances of these driving conditions may result in revoked driving privileges.

  1. Speeding
  2. Driving Without a Seatbelt
  3. Harsh Cornering
  4. Harsh Acceleration
  5. Idling for Five or More Minutes
