
Motorpool Services - University Business Fleet Vehicle & Cart Rentals
Making the Reservation Request
- Driver Eligibility
- All drivers must be affiliated with UC Merced.
- Possess a valid California driver’s license.
- Have successfully passed a DMV Pull.
- Be present to sign out the vehicle and receive the keys
To request a TAPS driver, submit a request via eDoc in order to collaborate with TAPS Events.

- Undergraduate Students, Student Clubs & Organizations
- Office of Student Involvement handles reservation requests.
- You’ll receive an email with the driver usage form to be signed.
- A confirmation email will follow within 24–48 business hours.
Reservation Pick-Up
- Pick up keys at the TAPS Office during key pick-up hours: Monday–Thursday 8 am–12 pm & 1 pm–4 pm; Friday 8 am–12 pm.
- Driver must provide their name and reservation number.
Reservation Returns
- Vehicles: Must be returned with the same fuel level. Failure to refuel will result in a fee.
- Carts: Must be plugged into their charging station. Failure to charge may result in a fee.
- Return keys to the TAPS Office or the Fleet Services Drop Box after hours.
Cancellations
- Email fleetservices@ucmerced.edu to cancel.
- Cancel at least 24 hours in advance to avoid fees.

GPS & Driver Feedback System
Motorpool vehicles are equipped with driver-feedback systems. Notifications are sent to Fleet Services infractions such as: speeding, no seatbelt, harsh driving, or idling over five minutes.
