Daily or Short-Term Parking
If you have not purchased semester parking, hourly permits are available via WayToPark, our mobile app or kiosks located in Bellevue Lot. Student commuter parking is only available in Bellevue Lot.
To be eligible to purchase campus parking, students must be a sophomore, junior or senior (30 or more units). All other students will be placed on a waiting list and permits will be released as space is available.
Resident Housing Permit Information
Housing permit applications will be available beginning July 15, 2021. These applications include freshman exception and continuing/new transfer applications. Applications must be submitted by Aug. 6, 2021. Purchasing a kiosk permit does not authorize on-campus parking during enforcement hours.
Housing incoming freshman residents are eligible for on-campus parking by applying through the parking exception application process. On-campus residents may apply for "H" Housing overnight parking if you meet one of the exception criteria. "FALL H" Housing parking can be purchased beginning Aug. 9, 2021 and is valid Aug. 21-Dec. 18, 2021. Purchasing a kiosk permit does not authorize on-campus parking during enforcement hours.

Commuter permits can be purchased via the My UC Merced Parking Portal beginning Monday, August 23 and will be valid through December 17, 2021.
Please note, freshmen are not eligible to purchase a commuter permit to park on campus. Our office; however, provides freshman exceptions, and you must submit an application online and be approved prior to parking on campus. Carpool permits may only be purchased at the TAPS office.

Student Carpool Permit Requirements
- Student carpools must have two or more currently registered students attending UC Merced.
- Carpool members must ride together at least three days per week (Monday through Friday).
- Each member must be present with their school and/or work schedules when the permit is purchased.
- The primary driver must approve each member participating in the carpool.
- Each additional rider that has a vehicle registered with the carpool will have access to six occasional one-time use only permits. These permits are nontransferable and are for use on days when carpooling to campus is not feasible.
*Carpool and motorcycle virtual permits may only be purchased at the TAPS office. All students must be present and have class and/or work schedules at the time of purchase.
Short-Term Medical Parking
Short-term medical parking is available. A doctor's note containing specific start and end dates is required. Students must also purchase some form of paid parking to be eligible for medical parking. Medical parking is valid in any non-specially marked space in any lot. Parking is not authorized in ADA spaces.
